Table hosts support ywca by inviting 9 guests to join them at a table during the luncheon. Table hosts receive a book authored by the speaker and a table identified in the name of their choosing. If you’re interested in being a table host, please contact us at luncheon@ywcaclarkcounty.org or by calling 360 906 9153.

Erin is the author of Stolen Innocence and Living for Today. A leading participant in Take Back the Night, her goal is to raise awareness of abuse in order to end the stigma of silence. Since 2004, she has been speaking at national conferences, community events, children’s advocacy centers, colleges, and high schools. Erin has been instrumental in getting Erin’s Law passed, which requires school boards to adopt age appropriate curriculum on sexual abuse education for students pre-k through 5th grade. Erin efforts have not gone unnoticed. She’s been featured in a variety of media, including Time Magazine, the Chicago Tribune and on Oprah. Visit Erin’s website at www.erinmerryn.net.

Classic Wines Auction

March 2012

ywca clark county partners with the Classic Wines Auction (CWA) to present a fantastic fundraising event that includes a gala auction, winemaker dinners, and Ambassador’s Dinner.  Funds raised from these events support the work of non-profit organizations such as Metropolitan Family Service, New Avenues for Youth, Friends of the Children – Portland, Trillium Family Services, and ywca clark county.

Classic Wines Auction started when a small group of friends raising funds for Portland Metropolitan Family Service formed a non-profit entity in 2004 after experiencing an overwhelmingly positive response from Wine Spectator magazine and the community. According to a 2010 article in Wine Spectator magazine, CWA is one of the top ten charity wine auctions in the United States. The auction continues to gain support, and consistently raises more than $2.2 million annually.

Women of Achievement

After serious deliberation, ywca clark county and Clark College have jointly made the decision to discontinue the Women of Achievement luncheon. A letter was distributed in August of 2010, which outlined our considerations. Please view the letter, or contact Sherri Bennett at 360 696 0167 or sbennett@ywcaclarkcounty.org.
